I got some beautiful turquoise corduroy from a thrift store and instantly thought it would make a cute cat! I got to work, and here is another Katy Kitty!
She is up for sale on my etsy shop. I already sold the pink Katy Kitty I made a few weeks back! I hope she is enjoying her new home.
And yes this post obviously means I have not had my baby yet.

A bit of Sunshine
My husband kindly took me to a greenhouse right here in the Fraser Valley that contained some of the most beautiful orchids I have ever seen. It was a nice escape this time of year that didn't cost anything! They also had amazing citrus fruit trees there. I myself have two lemon trees, but they never grow fruit. It was nice to see what my trees could be like one day!

Cottage Industry Sewing
Just over two weeks ago I discovered pattern maker Larissa Holland who designs toys mostly. I fell in love with her patterns right away. At first my intentions weren't to make them to sell. But after I made one stuffie, I couldn't stop. And I don't need anymore things lying around. So I'm trying my hand at cottage industry sewing!
Here is Wee Mouse Tin House:
Very fun to sew, and adorably small!

Happy Daylight Savings!
Its unofficial spring today (on my calendar)! The days get longer and I get excited about the growth of new plants, and the greening up of the foliage. This also means Easter is almost here. I wanted to make bunnies last year, but never got around to it. So this year I got a head start! I used the Kitty pattern from mmmcrafts and made the cat ears into longer rounder ears.

The Dad Bag
To get my husband excited to carry around baby things, I decided it was a good idea to make him a dad diaper bag. We went fabric shopping together and he picked out his own fabric. I tried not to persuade him against certain fabric choices. After a failed attempt at keeping my mouth shut on some fabric we didn't get, I stayed out of it for his final decision.
chilli pepper lining in the pockets and
inside the bag!
(he said if he didn't get this fabric he would regret it,
very cool choice I must say!)

Crafting Kitties
I bought a pattern off etsy for this Cat and I love it! It is by mmmcrafts. I love the style of her designs. I made a pink cat because I have loads of pink wool fabric. I'm working on some rabbits made with the same pattern, but with rabbit ears instead of kitty ears. I have to get them done long before Easter! (maybe one this week?)
The pattern was really easy to follow, and the pattern pieces clear and easy to cut out. It was totally worth the money (for those who don't like spending money on patterns it is worth it!). I like how big the finished cat is, and how there is still freedom within this design to add your own touch like colour choice and fabric placement.
