Woodland Needle Felted Mobile

Needle felting is a very satisfying craft (as I may have said before). I really enjoy how the raw wool just takes shape with poking at it over and over again. I created a simple and whimsical mobile that is along the forest theme. More like a fantasy forest, with a gnome, some mushrooms, and cute hedgehog!

mr. gnome had been sitting around for a while
waiting to get included in a project

it was a first for me needle felting the
mushrooms and the hedgehog
I think they are very cute

Big Dress Little Dress

In fashion school, the unit on grading (making patterns bigger or smaller) flew right over my head. It was a difficult concept to grasp back then. But recently I took a stab at it and it was quite easy. I wanted to make my doily dress a size or two smaller, and it worked!

Poppy Chair

I just finished reupholstering a chair on Friday. I was determined to finish it last week, and managed to get it done in two days! It was nice to only have a messy living room for one evening, unlike my last chair, it was messy for over a week!

the only picture I took of the "during" process

I didn't know what to expect with
opening the back of the chair and these buttons
but it was a pretty easy process recovering them

After!

Vintage Findings

I've had an idea brewing around in my head that I just had to get out. The outcome of sewing and pattern making today is a dress for a toddler girl made with vintage findings. I can picture them in all sizes and colours! I have some very cute pink doilies, and some with flowers on them, so of course more dresses to come!

Valentine's Sister Tea Party

Last Saturday I hosted a tea party for some very lovely sisters of mine, as well as two other sister friends that we grew up with. It was a lovely afternoon, all things hearts and roses were there. A new tradition may have been stared...

Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

Love Banner

A simple felt banner. Made with hand cut felt for the triangle pieces, pre-cut and already sticky and glittery felt L,v,e letters from the store, and a heart embroidered on the banner for an "o". The heart was out of necessity, as I didn't have an "o". It looks pretty cute though. I did want to make a "Happy Valentine's Day" banner, but that would be WAY to many letters! Maybe next year?
